Planning Committee has decided to allow a proposed development of up to 172 dwellings and associated works and the associated infrastructure at Gregory's Bank Industrial Estate, Gregory's Bank, Worcester 1.1. The applicant proposes a development of approximately 1.3 acres of land with 1,200 dwellings and associated works. The proposals include a new railway carriage depots and a new entrance to Gregory's Bank Industrial Estate. These additional facilities will enable the occupiers of the site to achieve the projected growth in dwelling numbers to between 2,000 and 3,000. The proposals include a new entrance to Gregory's Bank Industrial Estate which will be open to the public, and an interchange point between Gregory's Bank and Worcester Road Industrial Estate. The applicant proposes to undertake approximately 100,000m2 of land development to build a new depot for the Worcester Tramway Company, as well as to develop an interchange point between Gregory's Bank and Worcester Road Industrial Estate, and to provide additional services to the site, including a new road surface. At present, the project does not propose the erection of any roads within the proposed development of up to 172 dwellings and associated works. The applicant also proposes to provide a new pedestrian pathway and will undertake a new pedestrian crossing of Gregory's Bank Road. The applicant is proposing to construct a water feature in the area where the development takes place. The applicant proposes to construct a water feature at the location where the new depot for the Worcester Tramway Company is constructed. The applicant proposes to construct a pedestrian way alongside the proposed new depot to accommodate access to the proposed new depot. The applicant intends to provide approximately 25 new car parking spaces in the development which is in the City of Worcester. The applicant also wishes to provide access to the site and the site from Worcester Road and Worcester Drive similarly to the current road access to the site. The applicant wants to provide a new road to Worcester Road. An existing road currently located between Worcester Road and Gregory's Bank Industrial Estate, provides access to the site.
