Agency History
The Agency has an excellent history of safety and efficiency. It has an outstanding track record of successful and innovative projects. The Agency was recognized by the Department of Commerce with the 2004 Meritorious Achievement Award for their security systems and their research initiatives on mobile medical imaging systems.
This Project is an opportunity for the Agency to demonstrate its expertise and capability. Through the use of Federal, State and local resources, the Agency's engineers have determined and implemented a cost-effective design. The estimated cost of the project of 3 million will be funded by the Federal Share Program (FSP), with Federal contribution of 500,000, Federal and State funds of 250,000, and local and private contributions of 500,000. The design includes a secure, air-gapped facility, automated surveillance and intrusion detection system, fire detection, and monitoring systems.
This Project also has a significant contribution of public/private partnerships. Through the collaboration of many organizations and individuals, as well as collaboration between Federal and State agencies, the Secure Recovery will enhance safety and efficiency, improve health and patient care outcomes, and save money and improve the quality of life of Veterans, Members of Armed Forces, and their families.
