Introduction In the last few years, ubiquity has become a concept used in a broad spectrum of computer network technologies, from mobile phone applications to global positioning systems (GPS) and data analytics. Ubiquity is defined as the process of managing information in such a way that it is widely available to multiple users (Zuckerman, 2008) and that users are able to interact with it using multiple tools (Zuckerman, 2008). The term ubiquity has been widely used in computing (Learn, 2007; Avila & Anderson, 1988; Moore, 1993; Thompson, 1985; Young, 2004). Ubiquity comes from the Greek roots 'lumen', i.e., the “seeing” or 'knowing”; and Sousa, “to come together”, and is considered the key to providing the capability of interacting with many computers at once. Ubiquity is a technology enabling people to have a seamless computer based interaction (Pruitt et al., 2004). The term “converged computing” comes from the Greek roots 'kondourion', meaning “all-in-one” or “everything in one”; and 'coevolution', the “complete system”, and in the context of convergence “the one-to-many relation, or “one-to-many relationship” (Pruitt, 2004). It means the ability for people with disparate computing systems to work together in a single workstation (Moore, 1988). Converged computing has become one of the technologies that has allowed for the rise of cloud computing and the proliferation of information services that provide cloud-based computing in different ways. As computing technologies have improved, the term “context” has been used as a broad category to designate the underlying context that underpins the system. Contexts range from the physical as in GPS, cellular telecommunication and radio communications, to information processing and human-computer interaction (e.g., Moore, 1993; Thompson, 1985; Young, 2004).
