The purpose of this study is to develop a small company e-business tool that is applicable in emerging markets. The study uses a survey designed to capture business practices, company demographics, and management attitudes of small companies that implement their e-business. Our goal was to see whether the small companies' attitudes towards these different aspects of their business and how such attitudes changed during the study. Using a qualitative study design, we conducted focus groups of small companies that were trying to develop an e-business and the attitudes of their executives and managers. We surveyed their executive team members and asked them about their company's overall e-business success and challenges. Lastly we asked managers (with a particular focus on how they see and manage entrepreneurs) their views on the use of e-business in their companies. It seemed that, while small companies might not be as concerned as they could be about their e-business, they were more comfortable with how they saw such a service. They are more comfortable with how e-business works for the company as a whole. Furthermore, small company e-business owners are more aware and able to take the initiative in their e-business, since they do not have to deal with external consultants and consultants to do these things. This study shows that the use of e-business was an attractive business opportunity for small companies, but that they are more comfortable with the usage than other companies. Therefore, the small companies' attitudes towards e-business could be a valuable tool for other startups seeking to get their startup off the ground.
