The Democratic Party, which won 34.6 percent of the vote in the July 5 elections, will form a coalition government with the People's Party (PP) at the head of the parliamentary group.
The party has not yet confirmed if it will accept the invitation to replace Honda with the other government leader, the LSI's Mayor Ever Honda. “I do not rule it out”, said Ever Honda on condition of anonymity. But Honda added: “I will consider the invitation,” he said. Note: The 'no' vote is a vote against corruption, the old regime and dictatorship. The parties' respective leaders have used the phrase 'no' to mean the 'yes' vote. Honda referred to the 'no' vote in a recent interview. Honda said:”A 'yes' vote will be a vote for corruption, the old regime and dictatorship. This kind of result is what the former regime wanted and also, the present one. This type of result will bring about a certain change. The new constitution is now the law in Albania.”[1]
