The Personalized returns used on the 2006 return should be prepared using the following personal coding rules. They apply whether tax is withheld. The bar code used to enter Personalized returns should contain the term “Personalized” at the end of each line. There should be only one Personalized bar code. If there are two personal bar codes on a form, only one bar code should be used. Exceptions to bar code requirements Personalized return bar codes can be used for accounting periods ending in 2006 if they are required to be disclosed in accordance with the requirements as outlined above, if the corporation has not paid any tax at the end of the year and/or has only paid tax at a lower rate during the period that it is being filed. Personalized return bar codes can also be used for all non-year end accounting periods where they are required to be disclosed in accordance with the requirements as outlined above, if they are paid in the year, and if, at any time after the end of the year, you have not paid any tax at the end of the year and/or had only paid tax at a lower rate during the period that it is being deposited into your company ledger. You must ensure that, where two Personalized bar codes are required to be entered in a form, one is for each line.
