A large theoretical effort is necessary in order to develop a theory on molecular transport that is sufficiently sensitive to the small differences between electronic energies and energies. In addition to quantum transport simulations, the simulation will also allow us to identify the major features of transport in different systems that are fundamental for any description of the origin of the system of interest. This research would not be possible without the efforts of the Physics Group at the University of Amsterdam which includes the physicists Professor Stefano Sanity and Dr. Trees Verboten. RAW Paste Data REFERENCES Project description The goal of this project is to build a large scale theoretical model of electronic transport, which includes quantum transport of single electrons (e.g. by the Dirac equation). The model will be capable of handling the large variations between energy and currents as for the quantum electronic transport of atoms, and will also contain the necessary properties on which the quantum transport of molecules can be based. The model will be sensitive to certain characteristics of the system, thus enabling the development of molecular and atomic transports simulations.
