Introduction DZO, short for Distributed Wide Area Oscilloscope, is a wide-area frequency division multiplexer, which can be used to transfer analog and digital signals to multiple receivers. The DZO device has a wide range of uses as an antenna analyzer, receiver, transceiver, and as a signal processing facility — in addition to its radio frequency duties DZO also serves various purposes in TV and television broadcast broadcasting and in signal processing for mobile and satellite wireless communication equipment. DZO is one of the most advanced radio frequency processing methods ever implemented and the software, hardware and electronics involved in its operation make it perhaps the most demanding and complex digital signal processing project the field of Radio Frequency Systems has seen [4]. 1.1. Basic requirements DZO requires the installation of a radio transceiver device capable of sending and receiving at least 160 kHz of signal which can be either analog or digital. In most cases DZO will run as a simple digital radio frequency processor on existing hardware. In some cases, additional hardware is required in order to be able to process digital signals such as an analogue to digital conversion (ADS), an analog to digital converter (ADC), or a modulation/noise gate device.
