It is responsible for coordinating the work of the system to produce effective, efficient and responsive law enforcement responses to crime, drug trafficking and related matters at home and abroad. The Office builds capacity and coordinates international collaborations among law enforcement, judicial and security authorities. Under its mandate, UNODC is also a member of four key United Nations Global Drug Strategy Networks (UN GDS) — the Global Program on Drug Control (EPIC), the Global Partnership to Fight Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Persons (GP TAD), the Global Organized Crime Group Against Drugs (GOADED) and the Global Program on HIV/AIDS (GP HIV). These networks are supported through a global network of law enforcement, court and security officials. UNODC is currently working to bring these four networks together, and develop a joint platform for cooperation based on the goals of the Convention for the Control and Prohibition of the Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances. UNODC publishes the Global Report on Drug Abuse and Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, which provides a comprehensive and up-to-date view of all the trends and developments relating to drug control and illicit drugs in general and psychotropic substances in particular, as well as information on relevant policies, legislation and practices, and relevant observations by United Nations stakeholders. The Global Report on Drug Abuse and Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is available in several languages: English Arabic Chinese French Russian Spanish UNODC also publishes The World Drug Report: Opioids and Substance Abuse, which is the authoritative and authoritative UNODC policy statement on the world drug situation. The report presents the latest statistics, analysis, insights and recommendations on substance abuse affecting global citizens.
