Learning at work placement: Overall grade: SAL grade information is updated once per week in accordance with the University of Ottawa Satisfactory Grade Policy. (Grade Code QS) (Grade Code HQ) Course Grade QS QH Academic Progress Assessment Academic progress at work or school is considered an indication of the student's progress in terms of academic, social, personal and professional concerns. Assessment of academic work is based on the content and depth of knowledge, learning methods used, skills and abilities developed. At the end of the assessment period, the assessment can be completed in the form of a report. Note: Academic progress at work or school may be used to demonstrate that the student has achieved satisfactory completion of the prescribed work load during an academic term. It does not, however, indicate the final grade in courses nor any credit for which the student was not assigned by an advisor or instructor. The assessment will be provided by the faculty and/or course advisor on a weekly basis and may be reviewed by the student during regular scheduled courses or on individualized needs based needs for which the student has been approved. The course grade shall be determined by the faculty and shall include: Grade QS QH (For QS, see Faculty of Studies website.) Maximum grade possible in QS courses is 12. Maximum Grade Points Possible in QS courses is 60 Points 40 Points 30 Points Maximum Degree Possible in QS courses is B degree A degree B degree If the course grade is 15 or greater, the grade cannot be changed and the student must satisfy all grade points before applying for graduation the following term. If the course grade is greater than 15, the student must still meet all grade points requirements including completing all courses in which the course grade has been given. Courses of more than four (4) terms and/or more than 60 hours may be studied independently of one another. At the end of the last term or term of more than four terms and/or 60 hours of study, the final grade in each term or term of 60 hours will be determined by considering all the courses taken in that term and the overall course grade, which may be higher than the maximum grade. If the course average during the course is above the maximum grade, the highest mark obtained in all courses taken in that term will be used.
