It's just like you would read it in the legislature, but it's electronic. I think the government made a mistake in moving to electronic records and the government's trying to correct it. This is a good idea. It's just like the paper bill, except you can read it in the comfort of your home. It's cheaper, easier and faster when you have all the information on your computer. But we also need to remember there's a difference between electronic and oral evidence. Even if it's just someone testifying in a deposition in court, that case has to be proven. The government says, “Oh, you can prove that by listening to the recorded audio or reading the printed transcript. That will mean a lot to you.” Well, they didn't do that in this case. The record in the Legislature showed that this was a public meeting. Now I know we're all for transparency and the government has agreed we will be, and they've provided a link to audio which is online. It's in Adobe Acrobat. I can read it at the link and listen to it on my computer. But just like in the real world, the government says it can't be done, and we believe it can be done. It should never be done without being recorded, and we won't accept that as a valid argument. I have received emails from people all across this province who've said, I'll read all this in the Legislature when I go home, that's a good idea. We can't just have somebody read it in the House while it's going on. A bill is just a proposal and it starts. It doesn't end at the point when it's put in the legislature for further debate. That's the point of having a bill. It's open to further debate, amendments and a final vote. Every person who wants to be in that committee should be allowed to be in that committee. The government says that's a good idea. Then we should have the government do some work and find out which changes need to be made to the bill. They say, that's a good idea. Then the government can propose those changes. They say that's a good idea, but you see, they want it to be a secret bill. But people aren't going to go to the trouble to bring in an open letter to put it in the newspapers.
