The following criteria will be used to select students to fulfill the program requirements: The individual must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25. Applicants must demonstrate strong, clear and meaningful commitment to the interdisciplinary nature of the program. All applicants are encouraged to include all the following information with their application: Statement of Interest (one page, double-spaced) Three letters of recommendation, two recommended from faculty and/or previous students, one from faculty member, one from former students. Recommendations should be on letterhead and addressed to Paul M. McKeon, MA, Interdisciplinary Humanities Program. The transcript(s) for the last four years of the applicant's undergraduate coursework must be sent to Paul M. McKeon at Applications received after these dates will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Applications from previous students will not be accepted. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation for each student in their application. Letters received by the deadline will not be counted toward the scholarship requirement. Applicants must demonstrate clear and meaningful commitment to the interdisciplinary nature of the program. Students must be eligible for at least one full year (8, 12 weeks) of full-time study and to be expected to undertake the dissertation. Each student is responsible for the entire cost of the program and will need to provide at least 12,500 in federal student aid. The award amount and terms of all fellowships are subject to the approval of the Dean, Humanities. Scholarships in the amounts of up to 15,000 are awarded to students who have completed all requirements for the Master of Arts degree and have been awarded a minimum of two tenure-track courses in interdisciplinary humanities, in lieu of at least one course in the humanities. Students receiving such a generous award are strongly encouraged to complete the program as planned. Applicants must write four (4) completed graduate courses in interdisciplinary humanities (including coursework from upper-division departments and/or interdisciplinary program in which the students are enrolled) with grade of P or better and a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.
