While being a parent is rewarding, it is also stressful for all involved: children, parents, teachers, and administrators. We're proud of what we have accomplished both during the previous school year and the upcoming year at CCA. In 2012, the school made great strides towards improving our student discipline and attendance rates. Although still not perfect, in 2012, they made significant progress in each of these key areas. Our students and staff were well-behaved and behaved themselves. In response to feedback from parents and students/teachers about the new and old technology, a plan was put into place to move all electronics and books from the school to the school shop. It was a monumental effort and many staff members and students supported this effort. Now all parents can read and read and read and read the books in the reading room and at home. This move is expected to go smoothly in the following school year. It is a massive project that will take several months to complete. There will be a great loss to our staff. The school is extremely well paid and offers excellent benefits. We are not able to pay our teachers adequately, which results in a high turnover rate. For the upcoming school year, all teachers are being offered a two-year contract. This is in addition to generous raises that were also recently announced. For more info about the Teacher Plan, please see The Teacher Plan. CCA has been named one of North Carolina's Top Public Schools. We are ranked #6 in the nation, and #2 in the Raleigh Area. In 2011 students took home 1.8M in state and federal funds, making CCA a significant financial contributor to our local community. Our state ranking in 2011 is: #21 (tie), #33 (tie), #42 (tie), #53 (tie), and #70 (tie). We have already begun to implement the 2013/14 budget, which we hope can help in providing a successful 2012/13 school year and continuing improvements in the future. This will allow for a smoother implementation of some new and expanded programs like the one we have planned for the year ahead. We are very proud of our students, and we wish them and their families each success this coming year. Thank you to everyone who supports CCA's mission — a better way to parent. Our community works hand in hand with the kids. We will continue building this partnership.
