We are not just interested in the SRF board grant, we are looking for additional funds. Furthermore, we have agreed not to ask for any extra funds for the SRF board grant, which would be unfair to the staff of the SRF. As I have been getting the information over the past couple of days I believe that the cost to be covered by the community is one-third of the grant. This is our position and as we are receiving further information it will be clarified. I am going to forward this message to you. It has been a good exchange of ideas between Kathy and myself about the costs of SRF services. Kathy was told she must sign a petition by Sept 15 to get her voice heard in this matter. Kathy stated she will not. However, Kathy, as she stated previously, believes I have a fiduciary responsibility not to ask her to pay a portion (more than one-third of the required grant funds) in the application fee. Kathy was offered a chance to submit the 10,000 to keep her status or pay up front in cash or in kind. It was decided the 10,000 should be paid to the City. So Kathy was given a choice between cash for the cash or in kind for the in kind. I have told her she still will have a voice, but only her voice of her ability to keep her job at this time. Since Kathy was not given my contact information I feel this is my mistake. I will contact Kathy and let her know. She may want to call me at my cell, and then I will find out where the contact information is on the back of this letter. The City has notified the Commission for the purposes of this meeting they are not going to be involved in the grant application and Kathy should take their word for it. Kathy's position was supported and that of her Council Committee: it is not up to the Commissioners to decide how the fund is used. This is the Commission's responsibility and Kathy has no obligation to go along with anything the Commission says. I will keep you informed of the status of this with Kathy.
