Since the park was created in 1994, tourists have visited almost every day, and their visits have created a vibrant local economy. The Cherokee Triangle Chamber of Commerce created “One Willow, Three Miles”, a community awareness education campaign which promotes the enjoyment of Willow Park by encouraging the use of local trails as well as taking advantage of events in town to see the park's beauty.
