c)Learning Outcomes The primary objective of the intensive course is to enhance practical, practical and theoretical knowledge within the fields of critical care medicine, health economics, social medicine, research methods and communication. The secondary objectives of the intensive course are: To increase the competencies of students in critical and integrative health care within and beyond the Erasmus program. To develop professional competence in the care of the elderly and people with disabilities, with emphasis on patient care and clinical supervision at the individual level. To develop the knowledge of key concepts of health economics and research methods and their relevance for healthcare practice and research. To improve the quality of education within and beyond the Erasmus educational environment. To build confidence, self-esteem, respect and a sense of belonging within a globalized and international environment. b)The content of the course offers students a practical course of study for the first year. The content for the second year follows the content of the first year (see Section 2), at least in the form of a thesis with corresponding research (see Section 3). In order to progress from initial study to a doctoral degree, students complete at least half a year on intensive courses. The first year is structured as follows: the first half is devoted to theory; the second half develops practical and theoretical knowledge; the final half is devoted to research. In addition, the first two or three years provide sufficient time for students to achieve academic progress towards the PhD. In addition to the regular Erasmus exchange program, there are special programs for students who have a doctoral thesis under discussion. Some of these are described in Section 4, but in general it is expected that students who wish to pursue a doctoral program in European social medicine should participate regularly (either through the exchange program or by participating in a specialized program) in the Erasmus programs.
