To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
Applicant must be a current member of the City of Newport Police Force or the Newport Tennessee Fire Department
Must be a veteran who has been honorably discharged from the United States Army or Air Force at any time during a non-service obligation, or who has been honorably discharged from other branches of the Armed Forces
Must be physically or mentally able to perform the essential functions of a police officer and firefighter, respectively
Must be able to pass an aptitude exam
Must not be subject to a court-ordered restraining order
To be considered for this position it is recommended that you submit a copy of your most recent DD-214 (service record or discharge papers). If you do not have either, you may apply via their Veterans Web Form at HTTP:/cityofnashville.net/Veterans.
