Your work will support the mission of the Program: Our aim is to develop and enhance the academic skills needed to enhance the career of health sciences/health and human development professionals. We will provide opportunities for students to develop competence in health science knowledge through hands-on teaching, professional training, internships, and research. Our program aims to prepare students with a global education and appreciation for their own cultural background and to develop strong intercultural communication skills through study and activities. In the last three years, more than 120 students have joined our program. Over 40% have gone on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in biomedical sciences from top research universities and institutions. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and experience are diverse. Our first year students were drawn from the City of San Diego High Schools, University of California, and University of San Diego. Our second year students have been drawn from City College of San Diego, San Diego State University, University of San Francisco, San Diego Community College and Loyola University Mary mount.
