Here the application development on a software architecture with microservice and containers, a distributed application model based on service- driven applications, the combination of microservice and containers with a distributed, asynchronous and data-centric architecture is introduced. For the first time in a large application development with Java EE 7, service oriented architecture is combined with a full stack of microservices and a container technology. The combination of microservice architecture with containers is based on the concept of distributed service, a new service concept for distributed application services with containers in Java EE 7. The project was initiated in 2013 to build a Java EE 7 application system to make microservice application development on Java EE 7 faster, easier and more convenient for web, mobile and cloud based services. Based on existing and new technologies the system provides for distributed services with an asynchronous API and data centric services that can be easily deployed in Java EE 7. The distributed service based approach to Java EE 7 development makes it possible to use microservices from Java EE 7 as well as from Java EE 6 and 7. The distributed service approach makes the development of such application systems easier because different microservices can be developed on the same application system simultaneously. The distribution of microservices on the same application system also facilitates the development of services which can be automatically deployed in different environments, for example on the cloud without a need for the developer to decide how to deploy the services. Through the application framework of Java EE 7, an alternative to Service Container provides the possibility of deploying different kinds of microservices and using them from Java EE 7 without necessarily sacrificing the capabilities of the other, built- in applications. The result of the collaboration between the German and Brazilian experts is the project SAP Hibernate Service-Based Application Development. For further developments the system can also be applied to mobile and web applications.
