Just boot your system to this mode and follow your computer's normal installation instructions, except for adding “Windows7” to the end of the computer's title bar as shown below when you are prompted to insert a CD or USB Drive. If you don't need to add a CD/USB to your Windows 7 system, you may be able to skip this step and just begin Windows XP mode with your computer already set up for a Windows 7 install.  If that's the case, you need to follow these instructions first.   The only real problem with Windows 7 is that many desktop programs are incompatible with Windows XP: Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 on XP is not compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 on Windows 7.  This may be due to the way that the Windows version of Adobe Acrobat works (for instance, on XP your computer automatically loads it onto the system automatically, and when the system shuts down, you'll be automatically restored to the version of Adobe Acrobat that's in use at the time the system shut down). For this reason, the best way to prepare your system to run Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 programs on Windows 7 is to use the Windows Vista/ 7 installation CD.  This is an excellent way of getting Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 programs on any operating system, even on Windows XP. You can even run Adobe software in XP mode by connecting the same Microsoft Windows CD/DVD you used to install Windows 7. Now that you have been introduced to many of the features of Windows 7 and how they work together, read on for a closer look at the other modes. The Basic Mode Windows 7 Basic Mode is the most basic of the four modes and is often confused with an OS install disk.  You can see a great deal of common application software on a Basic mode system.  However, many advanced features are hidden by default, so this is the mode usually most used by business users. This mode is a good choice for new users because Basic mode provides a large and stable installation without a lot of confusion.  The system is usually a good choice for home users because it requires very little tweaking. For advanced users, it offers the best balance between security and ease.  You can choose between using Basic mode if you are only installing a short time, and you do not plan on changing things or installing more software, or if you plan on using Windows for several days to weeks.
