Each of eight subclasses of Moi, including IgG1, IgG4, IgG3, IgG4, IgG6, IgG1+IL1DR, IgG4+IL1DR and IgG4+IL3DR was characterized by its specific epitome. The majority of the Moi were determined to be IgG4+IL1DR, an immune deficiency syndrome characteristic of AIDS. The fact that Moi are recognized by the same epitome does not mean that Moi of the same class are all identical by all criteria and hence it is important to distinguish different classifications. Moi of different subclasses are not identical and are distinguishable by their epitomes, the degree of cross-reactivity, and by the degree of activity with complement C-type pectin. The Moi subclasses with the highest cross-reactivity included IgG3+IL1DR, IgG6+IL1DR, IgG7+IL1DR, IgG1+IL1DR and IgG4+IL1DR. However, Moi subclasses of lesser cross-reactivity included IgG3+IL12DR and IgG4+IL12DR. Conclusions: (A) Moi are recognized by a common epitome and are distinguishable by the level of cross-reactivity, the degree of activity with complement C-type pectin and the extent of Egg autoantibody production. (B) Some Moi subclasses show high activity in the presence of C-type elections. This indicates that their activities are primarily mediated by the C-type pectin rather than their specific Egg autoantibody activity or a specific lectin-binding epitome. © Moi of the same subclass are not interchangeable and are distinguishable by the degree of activity with C-type elections, the degree of Egg autoantibody production and possibly the fact that one class or subclass is more antigenically implicated than the other. Cross-reactivity patterns of the Moi are consistent with differences in the extent of serological reactivity by infection. Moi of the same subclade are not interchangeable, and it is possible the antibody in a Moi of a different subclade can cross-react with anti-moi antibodies.
