In the new era there is less pressure for new computers, and they are thus able to run applications at high speeds. At the same time, because they are faster and use less energy, they are much less expensive for businesses (and also for some individuals, as mentioned in this talk and other presentations about the topic) and have already gained a big success on the market. This talk will briefly introduce the basic aspects of the statistical systems. The goal of this book is twofold: Firstly, it will contain an introduction to the statistical aspects of machine learning in C language and C++, and secondly, it will aim to provide a reference for this subject. It is hoped that this will be an informative, easy to read and easy to understand reference that people can find interesting, even if they are not interested in statistical computing. This talk contains mainly a C code, but it would be possible to use the same code in either the Python or Java programming languages — or even in the assembler assembly language. This book is a first draft, and still contains a lot of features not yet implemented. While we were working on this book we have also contributed to many other books, conferences and publications on this topic. For a list of available resources on the topic, please refer to the bibliography. If you use this code in your own work, please inform us! We would much appreciate that. We will try to be very sensitive to your use of this code, but it is not necessary to have access to a C++ compiler, to be able to use this paper! This talk was organized for the DI COM 2012 conference on Software for the Intelligent Environment in Europe. DI COM 2012 is organized by the DI COM Institute of Sciences in Paris — an interdisciplinary research facility. Our present aim is to prepare DI COM 2012 conference, to provide a platform to publish a new paper on statistical software, together with the current research on statistical tools and statistical computing, that will be delivered with DI COM 2012. This paper was presented in March 2012 at the DI COM 2012 conference in Brussels.
