General Requirements 1) General A.1) A physical examination must be conducted no sooner than 30 days before the expiration date of the license to ensure that an applicant is physically capable of performing their duties. 1) General A.2) For a physical examination, the physician may be a licensee or an independent investigator and must have conducted at least one examination within the prior 12 months to perform this examination. A.3) In addition, the physician must be of good character, be licensed for at least 4 years, and possess the qualifications described by these regulations. A licensed clinician has the responsibility of providing and supervising the examinations for the resident; the physician's duties include the following: 1) providing the patient's medical history and the results of his or her physical examination, and 2) preparing the results of the physical examination and a report of medical findings. 1) General A.4) The physician must complete the Resident Physician's Guide (Physician's Guide) prepared by the California Medical Board. A patient may obtain a copy of the Physician's Guide or a physical examination from the resident physician. A.5) A resident or patient may be examined by an individual that performs the examination during the day on the resident's or patient's premises upon consent to the examination or after hours on the property owner's premises upon consent of the resident or patient if the patient has indicated that he or she does not want the appointment to be made.
