Employees who are eligible to enroll need to enroll in all coverage by July 1, 2012: Employees on the State Excess Benefit Plan (WEBB) can enroll or change coverage at any time within the 12 months preceding the close of the quarter. Employees on the Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) can enroll or change coverage at any time during the 12-month period following the close of employment. When making the election, employees can indicate whether they wish to enroll or change plans. For information about WEBB and the EPP, visit and click on the appropriate link under State Excess Benefit Plan. For more information on the Employee Benefit Plan, visit and scroll down to the “Employee Benefits” topic or click on the section in the left-hand column. Employees can change their plans in the same manner that State employees can change their plans during Open Enrollment. You can call, e-mail, fax or mail your choice of plan to your Benefits Administrator. Employees making changes to the Employee Benefit Plan and those eligible for WEBB will have two options available: If you do not make any changes or do so in one quarter, your option during the next quarter will be considered to be a new plan, and you would be charged a new premium based on the new open enrollment plan. After three months, you will be charged the average monthly premium for the remaining plans during the current and following periods. If your plan changes prior to the next Open Enrollment period, you may be required to re-enroll at the higher open enrollment rate. If you enroll during Open Enrollment, you have until May 1, 2013, to enroll in all of your plans. To access the health benefits you will be enrolled in if you choose to enroll now, just visit EmployeeDirect and log in with your new password. If you are unable to enroll and/or wish to make other adjustments, please call your Benefits Administrator at during regular business hours. The Virginia department of labor and agency support (ALAS) is responsible for processing enrollments throughout the state. Employers offering WEBB and EPP plans will be charged a fee of 1.50 per employee per month unless the employer chooses to elect to enroll the entire employees in WEBB coverage.
