To ensure the continued health and growth of the game of golf in Michigan, we were compelled to develop a program that would involve our membership in the golf business. A common vision was developed that would promote golf and grow the participation in the game by enhancing the value of the membership and the value our member's properties offer our members. The golf program has served as an incentive for our member leaders to bring their clubs on the course, and for the membership to remain engaged in the club life. The program has also resulted in significant growth of membership that, coupled with the growing demand for the member benefits for our members, generated 9.6 Million in income in 2007 and 4.8 Million in operating and marketing costs in 2006. To further help promote the game of golf and keep members engaged in it, The Michigan Golf Course Owners Association has partnered with other organizations to develop a Michigan Golf Week® that was recently established in Detroit and Grand Rapids.
