The following specific areas must be completed by the student (in addition to the areas listed above): • Clinical and Laboratory Skills • Nursing Evaluation in the Ophthalmic Patient (with and without contacts). • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery • Clinical Laboratory Skills • Basic Principles of General, Gynecologic, and Surgical Medicine with special emphasis on the evaluation of the ophthalmic patient. • Clinical and Laboratory Methods for Evaluating the Effects of Drugs on the Gastrointestinal and Intestinal Mucosa. • Laboratory Procedures in the Ophthalmic Laboratory. • Clinical, Research, and Nursing Perspectives in Ophthalmic Practice. • Clinical and Laboratory Methods of Evaluation of Human and Animal Tissues. In addition, students may be eligible for participation in the National Collegiate Student Nursing Association Scholarship Project. NC SNA has provided financial resources to fund this project to assist RN's interested in continuing education and the NC SNA Nursing Program in obtaining credit through their college's Continuing Education Program. If students are able to meet criteria for continued education credit, then they shall be eligible to apply 100 towards their nursing course.
