The Diverse Health System HIGHLIGHTS: The City of Miami-Dade Department of Health. The Diverse Health System (DHS) collaborates with the community to increase the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of disease among those who are at greatest risk. The Diverse Health System is a program of the Department of Community Health that has been working with residents of District 7, the District 7 Community Health Center (CW CHC), since January 2015. The purpose of DHS is to expand early diagnostic care for new HIV infections among individuals at greatest risk, provide prevention-oriented programming for individuals, and enhance the community's early identification and outreach to family and friends of newly diagnosed and HIV-positive individuals. All public and not-for-profit HIV testing sites provided on-site sexual health education for clients and staff to increase client self-awareness and prevent negative interactions, while addressing a number of other issues, including sex-work and prostitution. The services include condom sales for women and men, anonymous HIV testing sites, and testing services for individuals with HIV. Diversion Prevention Program: Community-Level Intervention to Reduce Drug Abuse and Heroin Use in Miami-Dade County Drug Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery: The Department of Family and Protective Services' Department of Mental Health, Rehabilitation and Substance Abuse (DOORS HAS) and DOORS are committed to reducing the harm from substance abuse and to improving our community health and well-being. Through its programs and activities, DOORS HAS enforces a drug policy and helps us develop and implement policies and programs that reduce all drug related problems.
