Most of the time when your blender is powered on and the blades will not rotate, it is because you have overfilled the container. Remove some of the food/liquid and try to power on your blender again.
The solution is to tighten the base. If this doesn't solve the problem, inspect and, if necessary, replace the gasket. If the drive stud is turning but the blade assembly isn't, inspect the assembly socket into which the drive stud fits. It may be worn and require replacement.
This blender doesn't come with an additional jar. The Hamilton Beach Personal Creations Blender is awful for crushing ice. Ice forms under the blades, which prevents the unprocessed cubes from getting blended. It fails to crush ice, even when you try shaking or mixing the ice around in the jar.
Make sure the blender is turned off and unplugged. Check the container for any food particles that may be obstructing the blades. Carefully remove the food particles with a spoon to prevent hand injury. After the obstruction is cleared plug the blender into an outlet and turn the blender on to ensure that it working.
There may be times when an air pocket is created around the blade, causing the ingredients to miss the blending blade. Unplug the power cord. Remove the Blender Jar from the base, and use a spatula to rearrange ingredients in the Blender Jar. Turn the Blender on to continue use.
