The SF-86 Questionnaire is a 127 page questionnaire-form necessary for national security positions in the United States. Your SF-86 Questionnaire is supposed to proceed through the system as shown below. Ninety percent of all cases are supposed to be completed in approximately 60 days.
Make sure you have the following documents with you during the interview process: A copy of your SF-86. A government–issued photo ID. A personal address book or a list of your contacts. Any relevant documents that may resolve any pending security issues.
What can disqualify you? You are not a U.S. citizen. You were dishonorably discharged from the military. You are currently involved in illegal drug use. You have been judged as mentally incompetent or mentally incapacitated by a mental health professional. You have had a clearance revoked for security reasons.
