Portable Document Format (PDF) is a common format for sharing final versions of files. To add or edit text in a PDF that was made in an Office program like Excel or Publisher, start with the original Office file. Open that file in your Office program, make your changes, and then save the file in PDF format again.

Open a file in Acrobat DC. Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane. Use Acrobat editing tools: Add new text, edit text, or update fonts using selections from the Format list. Save your edited PDF: Name your file and click the Save button.
There is no Open Office PDF Password Protector, but there is a PDF import extension. After you download the PDF extension for OpenOffice, select "Open" from the "File" menu and locate the PDF file that you want to edit and open. After you have opened the PDF, you can now edit the PDF file.
