It was easy to use however I believe as a snowbird they should have another way to fill out the 8840 without having to sign up for this form filler. As it turns out we tried to fill out on line and the signature part wouldn't work. We ended up printing out the form and filling it by hand and mailing it in.

Page Numbers: Your last name and the page number should appear in the upper right corner of each page of your essay, including the first page, as in Jones 3. Insert your name and the page number as a "header." Do not type this information where the text of your essay should be. Title: Your essay should include a title.

To change to Roman Numerals, on the Insert Ribbon, in the Header & Footer Group, click on the arrow next to the Page Number icon and select Format Page Numbers to set the start at number and the style of numbering. Scroll down to the first page of the next section (where your chapters start) and click in the footer.
If it's MLA at least, you want your page numbers at the top right hand corner. Your last name should be in front of the page number though for MLA.
Click at the beginning or end of the page you want the page numbers to show. Go to 'Layout,' then in the 'Breaks' drop-down menu select 'Next Page' Double-click in the header or footer of that page to bring up the header menu. Click on 'Link to Previous' so it is not selected.
Click the tab Page Layout. Choose (Breaks) and Section breaks > Next page. Put the cursor on the page where you want the page numbering to start (section 2 in the document). Click the tab Insert and Page Number.
Open the Page Layout ribbon at the top of the screen and choose Breaks (Section Breaks) and Next Page. Highlight the Footer of the page you wish to start numbering from and you should see Link to Previous - click this once. Choose Insert - Page Number, and select the page numbers format you want.
To choose a format or to control the starting number, on the Header & Footer tab, click Page Number > Format Page Numbers. Word displays the Format Page Numbers dialog box. If you want to change the numbering style, select a different style in the Number format list.
