Open the Word document where you composed your cover letter and then insert the image of your signature into the document underneath your closing phrase. Remember to type your name below your handwritten signature.
This information should be located at the top of the page, either in the center, or indented on the right side of the paper. You then include the name and address of the person to whom you are sending the letter. At the end of the letter, place your signature on the right side of the page.
To address a cover letter without a name, use some variation of, “Dear Software Team Hiring Manager." You can also use, “Dear Hiring Manager" if the addressee really is unknown. Remember that “To Whom It May Concern" is an old-fashioned salutation for cover letters. It also feels very impersonal.
Be sure your cover letter uses a standard business-letter format. It should include the date, the recipient's mailing address and your address.
Do your homework. Keep "I" and "my" under control. Let someone else speak for you with a written recommendation.
Your cover letter is not your autobiography. The focus should be on how you meet an employer's needs, not on your life story. Avoid the perception of being self-centered by minimizing your use of the word “I," especially at the beginning of your sentences.
Don't include your address. Make it obvious who you are. Mention how long you've been with the company. Emphasise what you've done for the company. Talk about extra training. Include your duties. Be interested. Create a call for action.
It is proper business etiquette (and shows attention to detail) to sign your letter. However, if you are sending an email cover letter and resume, a signature isn't necessary.
2) Keep “I" and "my" under control. Yes, you'll need to say “I" or "my" to describe your skills and how they fit with the company and the position; emphasise your interest in the job; and sometimes address salary expectations. But there are some instances where you can go without it.
The signature line may include a second line for a title, if appropriate. The signature should start directly above the first letter of the signature line in the space between the close and the signature line. Use blue or black ink.
