Can a notary notarize a digital signature?
Electronic notarization is different from RON. Electronic notarization involves documents notarized in electronic form, with the document signer and notary signing with an electronic signature. The document signer, however, must still be physically present before the notary.
Can I notarize a document with multiple signatures?
If your document must be signed by more than one person and the method mentioned above is not possible, you may use Notarize by completing separate transactions for each signer. Each signer should register for a Notarize Account. The second signer can then upload the notarized document, and proceed through the process.
How do you notarize an electronic signature?
How does using notary work? When a sender routes a document to a signer, the sender selects “Sign with Notary.” The signer and notary get instructions to complete the in-person electronic notarization. When it occurs, the notarization session is recorded in the notary's electronic Notary Journal.
Is it legal to notarize your own signature?
The short answer is no, a notary public cannot legally notarize his or her own document. The notary could notarize his or her document without going through the normal steps of identification verification. This is why most states explicitly ban this activity.
