How do I open a PDF instead of Word?
If you want to open a PDF file without having to convert it to a Word document, you can open the file directly from where you have it stored. For example, you can double-click the PDF file on your desktop or your Documents folder. This will only work for you if you only want to open the PDF file and not edit it.
Can you open a PDF in Word and edit it?
To edit a PDF, open it in Word. This works best with PDFs that are mostly text. PDFs of book chapters or something that looks like a manuscript from a copier won't be formatted well in Word. Go to File > Open.
Can you open a PDF as a Word document?
