Can You Trace any Email Address? Yes and No. For example, someone who sends a message to your Hotmail account shows in the X-Originating IP section of the headers. However, someone who sends you a message from Gmail will ONLY trace back to Google IP addresses.
To find the IP address on Gmail, open the e-mail that you would like to find the IP address. Click on more icon on the top right of your e-mail. Scroll down and select show original. The original message will be displayed in a new tab.
Fetching Sender's IP Address When you have opened the email, go to right-hand side of the email and click on the downward arrow called as 'More' button. You'll see a number of options, and you need to click on 'Show Original' option. Then, you'll see a new tab is opened, and you'll see an original message written.
Step 2: In the coming email message window, just navigate to the little arrow icon located on the right bottom of Tags section under Message tab.
