Search Text in PDF. Search and Highlight

The search tool is one of pdfFiller’s the latest enhancements. Using this tool, you can find a word or a phrase in a PDF document. Now you will save even more time editing or annotating your PDFs because our search tool not only finds words, but also enables you to erase, highlight, and redact them. To activate the Search tool, click the Search button on the main toolbar or press CTRL+F on your keyboard.

The search toolbar will appear under the editing tools.

Type the text you want to find in the search field. The counter will show you the total number of search terms found in the document and the ordinal number of the current search term. The currently selected term is highlighted in green, the others in red.

To jump to the next search term, click the down arrow; to go to the previous instance, click the up arrow.

This is a great program. Easy to use and print and save to my computer. However, I would have liked the option to subscribe and pay by the month instead of an entire year at once.

App produces error during install for smartphones. Should favor browser entry, or at least make link more prominent. Also, the way that some of the advanced features are not available to a subscription is a bit misleading they way they are presented IMO... At the very least, the base subscription should provide limited quantities of some of the more advanced features... (monthly counter etc.) ~ Because the casual user may really benefit from these features (in low volume.) And there's little incentive to not just "get by" with the free services if they're not available.

Can a PDF be searchable?

OCR'd or made-searchable PDFs: Image-based PDFs can be made text searchable via the application of optical character recognition (OCR). During the OCR process, characters and the document structure are read. As a result, a text layer is added to the image layer.

How do I save a PDF as searchable?

Open the document and click Print. Select Universal Document Converter from the list and click Properties. Go to File Format, select PDF Document as output format and select Searchable PDF (like on the screenshot below) Click OK to start saving a document as a Searchable PDF.

How do I make a PDF OCR searchable?

To OCR selective pages in a document: In the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) dialog, choose whether the output text should be Searchable or Searchable and Editable. Click the Options button to select a target page range, and click Advanced to configure OCR preferences. Click OK to recognize the document's text.

Why can't I search my PDF document?
