In grad school, much of my reading comes from pdf files my professors post. Prior to PDFfiller, I would print out hundreds of papers in order to annotate. Now, I can annotate while conserving resources and I have access to the files no matter where or what device I use.

Embed Images in XML or JSON First, click the Insert / Encoded External File command, which is is available in Text View and Grid View for XML documents, and Text View for JSON files. Browse to select the file to embed, and then choose either Base 16 or Base 64 encoding.
In the XML Editor, right-click the image that you want to use as a hyperlink. In the context menu, select Hyperlink Image. The Insert Hyperlink dialog opens. From the Link to drop-down field, select a way to identify the topic, bookmark, or file to which you want to link.
Select an image (or part of an image) from another application (such as an image editor), copy it, and paste it into your document. Oxygen XML Editor will prompt you to save it. After saving the image, a reference to that file path is inserted at the paste position.
You shouldn't use XML to store images. Rather save them on a server and store the path to the images in XML.
