Select the text you want to format. Selecting text to format. Select the Page Layout tab, then click the Columns command. A drop-down menu will appear. Select the number of columns you want to create. Formatting text into columns. The text will format into columns. The formatted text.
Click in a cell to the left or right of where you want to add a column. Under Table Tools, on the Layout tab, do one of the following: To add a column to the left of the cell, click Insert Left in the Rows and Columns group. To add a column to the right of the cell, click Insert Right in the Rows and Columns group.
To fit the columns to the text (or page margins if cells are empty), click [AutoFit] > select “AutoFit Contents.” To fit the table to the text, click [AutoFit] > select “AutoFit Window.”
Write your text, select it, and go to the Layout tab. Click Columns, and choose Three or click or tap More Columns if you need even more. If you choose Three, the text you have selected is immediately split into three columns.
To adjust a column, select it, and then select Layout > AutoFit > AutoFit Contents. To adjust a table, select it, and then select Layout > AutoFit > AutoFit Contents.
Click the Row tab. Select the Height of row option from the drop-down menu. If necessary, enter a row height in points (72 pts = 1 inch). Select the Alignment option from the drop-down menu. Click Next Row to change to the next row and then set the cell height.
