Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
author (the person or organization responsible for the site) year (date created or last updated) name of sponsor of site (if available) accessed day month year (the date you viewed the site) URL or Internet address (between pointed brackets).
Structure: Last, F. M. (Year, Month Date Published). Article title. Retrieved from URL. Example: Stalker, B. (2010, July 15). Water aerobics. ... Structure: Last, F. M. (Year Month Date Published). Article title [Type of blog post]. ... Example: Schofield, E. (2010, May 3).
According to the APA manual (6th ed.), you do not need to cite entire websites in the reference list. In the body of the paper, provide the name of the site and URL.
Using In-text Citation APA in-text citation style uses the author's last name and the year of publication, for example: (Field, 2005). For direct quotations, include the page number as well, for example: (Field, 2005, p. 14). For sources such as websites and e-books that have no page numbers, use a paragraph number.
APA citation basics When using APA format, follow the author-date method of in-text citation. This means that the author's last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text, for example, (Jones, 1998), and a complete reference should appear in the reference list at the end of the paper.
Start your Works Cited entry with the author's name, if provided. ... Provide the title of the page in double quotation marks. ... Give the name of the website in italics followed by the date of publication. ... Close with your date of access if there was no date of publication.
According to the APA manual (6th ed.), you do not need to cite entire websites in the reference list. In the body of the paper, provide the name of the site and URL.
How do you reference a web page that lists no author? Cite in text the first few words of the reference list entry (usually the title) and the year. Use double quotation marks around the title or abbreviated title.: (“All 33 Chile Miners,” 2010).
It goes at the end of your reference. If your article has no DOI whatsoever, which happens more frequently with older articles, in APA format you will provide the URL for the journal homepage and the words Retrieved from.
The Publication Manual does not explicitly address whether hyperlinks should be live in APA Style (as previously discussed here), but we have some additional thoughts on the matter (naturally). First, it is fine for links to be live in a paper, though not specifically required.
