Quite simple and handy to fill. I would have preferred using my own signature on the completed form but I had difficulty loading an image of my signature.

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Age Requirements: Volunteers 12 to 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult who has also been through volunteer orientation. In order to keep everyone safe, volunteers must be at least 16 years old in order to walk dogs.
Typically, you only need to be 14 or older to volunteer at an animal sanctuary or zoo. You will only be able to take advantage of this opportunity if you have an animal sanctuary or zoo in your area.
Currently, teens account for 35% of the work done by volunteers with the animals in our shelter. Volunteer opportunities for teens 13-18 years of age include working in our Dog TLC, Junior Animal Care Assistant, and a variety of promotional programs.
Volunteers 14 17 years of age must have parental/guardianship permission (see reverse side). In addition, volunteers 14 17 must be accompanied by an adult while in the adoption center in the Outsmart® store in Webster, NY. What days and what hours would you be able to do volunteer work?
Volunteers (at adoption events or in the Cattery) must be ages 14 and older. Volunteers between the ages of 14 and 17 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.
Some shelters accept volunteers of middle-school age or older, and some hold out for high-school kids. There may also be exceptions for younger children if parents work alongside them, so this could be a good experience for you both.
The answer is volunteer! Volunteering means spending some of your free time helping others. You may volunteer to help other people, such as the families who lost their homes after a natural disaster. But you can also volunteer to protect animals, the environment, or any other cause that you care about.
There are a variety of tasks assigned to volunteers; some include working with the animals, some do not. You can walk dogs, socialize cats, clean cages, help with feeding, watering and grooming, do adoption counseling or administrative tasks.
Without a good core of volunteers, a shelter cannot make it. No shelter can afford to hire full-time staff to care for and walk every single animal, and that is where volunteers step in. Volunteers are able to socialize the animals, spend time with them, walk them, and even help clean their cages or feed them.

Communication must be a top priority. Respect their time. Volunteers are donors; the gift is time, not money. Relationships are more important than programs. Make it easy to volunteer. Express gratitude for their service in ways that are meaningful to your volunteers.
