So simple to use I regularly have the need to edit & sign documents & have used a few of the other free & paid services, PDF Filler has been great to work with so I renewed my subscription again.. I find importing a PDF easier than most other similar softwares... changing font sizes and styles is simple and the process is fast even on my slow internet service.. So far I have not had an issue with any of the features..

The difference between an acronym and initialism is that the abbreviation formed with initialism is not pronounced as a word, rather you say the individual letters, such as FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), and DVD (Digital Video Disk*).
According to Dictionary.com, an abbreviation is a shortened or contracted form of a word or phrase, used to represent the whole, as Dr. for Doctor, U.S. for the United States, lb. for pound. Initialisms and acronyms are two types of abbreviations that are used to shorten phrases.
TV is an abbreviation for `television'.

Words like 'of', 'the', and 'a' are often left out of acronyms and abbreviations to make them shorter, but not always (e.g. World of Warcraft is called WoW.) Your question is not stupid! USA is initialism (it's not used as a word rather it's letters are said individually).

initials in a name When a person uses two initials and a last name, a space should be inserted between the initials. A space also should be inserted between the last initial and the last name. But, no space between two-letter abbreviations (i.e., U.S., P.O.).

For an individual with a hyphenated last name, begin with the first name initial, followed by the two last name initials, and end with the middle name initial. The two last name initials (center) will be larger.
Using Punctuation: Period with Initials and Abbreviations. A period should be placed after an initial and after most abbreviations. Note: When an abbreviation is the last word in a sentence, do not add a second period.
Initials require no periods when someone has come to be known by initials alone (JFK, LBJ, etc.). Mary Jane is MJ. However, formal manuscripts probably need the periods. But if you're following Chicago, you also want a space between the initials: O. J.
Just like with men and women, monograms for children follow the same order of first, last and middle initial, with the last name initial being larger than the other two. However, just as with adults, if the font size of the initials are to be the same, then the order is as such: first, middle and last.
