POST. In web services, POST requests are used to send data to the API server to create or update a resource. The data sent to the server is stored in the request body of the HTTP request. When you fill out the inputs in a form and hit Send, that data is put in the response body of the request and sent to the server.

But in general terms GET is used when server returns some data to the client and have not any impact on server whereas POST is used to create some resource on server.
An application program interface (API) is a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications. Basically, an API specifies how software components should interact. Additionally, APIs are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components.
Most APIs require an API key. The easiest way to start using an API is by finding an HTTP client online, like REST-Client, Postman, or Paw. The next best way to pull data from an API is by building a URL from existing API documentation.
The Response interface of the Fetch API represents the response to a request. You can create a new Response object using the Response. Response() constructor, but you are more likely to encounter a Response object being returned as the result of another API operation for example, a service worker Fetchevent.
