Can you fax something to a closed office?

Yes, you can send a fax if the office is closed. Most offices leave their fax machines on outside business hours. Faxes received after business hours will be processed the next business day.

Can you send a fax at night?

You can send faxes at night, on weekends and pretty much anytime you want, thanks to the fax scheduling capability that's probably already a function of your existing fax machine. (That is, unless your boss also cheaper out on equipment and bought a low-end fax.)

Can you send a fax at any time?

Yes, you can send a fax if the office is closed. Most offices leave their fax machines on outside business hours. Faxes received after business hours will be processed the next business day.

Will fax go through if machine off?

If the Fax machine is offline then the Fax will not be sent. If your Fax machine is connected to a normal PSTN residential line the Fax machine will keep re-trying to send the Fax to the machine that is off-line. Periodically, you will hear the distinct modem tones as it attempts to dial and connect with the machine.

How long does it take someone to receive a fax?

When sending or receiving a fax, documents that contain mostly text usually take approximately 1 minute per page. For documents that contain graphics (e.g. scans of documents), or for faxes that are being sent through a slow phone line, it may take 5 minutes per page or more to be sent or delivered.

What happens inside a fax machine? The circuit sends the digital information down the telephone line to the fax machine at the receiving end. When you receive a fax, the same circuit takes incoming digital information from the phone line and routes it to a built-in printer.

A fax needs to be answered, however, most of the time the process of answering is automated. Most fax machines, fax software, and fax services will automatically answer a call after 2 or 3 rings.

How do you know a fax went through?

If the fax machine has a small display screen, look for a confirmation that the fax went through. Some fax machines will also print out a short confirmation report.
