For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
For signature confirmation they do have to be there to sign for the package. The USPS maintains a record of delivery (which includes the recipient's signature) for 2 years. If the specific addressee is not 21 years of age or older, the tailpiece will be returned to sender.
There are a few times you need to sign. First — when the shipper requests a signature for confirmation. Third — when the package is from a shipper outside the USA, international deliveries require a signature. Fourth — when the contents are regulated such as, medications, alcohol or hazardous items.
An addressee agent is usually a friend of the family who's authorized to pick up a package. The item can only be redelivered to the address originally stated on the tailpiece.
There are a few times you need to sign. First — when the shipper requests a signature for confirmation. Third — when the package is from a shipper outside the USA, international deliveries require a signature. Fourth — when the contents are regulated such as, medications, alcohol or hazardous items.
Click the Sign for a Package option to sign for a package online. If it's grayed out, the package either doesn't require a signature or FedEx needs you to sign for it in person. For example, if a package's sender specified adult signature required, FedEx will need someone over 21 to sign for it in person.
Adult Signature Required: UPS will obtain the adult recipient's signature and provide you with a printed copy. Adult recipients must be at least 21. You may also view the adult recipient's signature online.
Anyone can sign. It's basically just to show that the package was actually delivered to a person. Usually the UPS driver just wants somebody to sign.
and yes, you can sign for it if you are under 18. This. In most cases the signature is just the delivery man's proof that the package was received by someone at the destination residence. Not all packages need a signature though.
Sure, as long as the package is not adult signature only. If it is adult only, and you have a good report with your carriers, most will have no issues with it.
Certified Mail is a special USPS service that provides the person sending the tailpiece with an official receipt showing proof the item was mailed. When the tailpiece is delivered, the mail carrier requires a signature from the recipient. That signature is stored in the USPS database for a period of 2 years.
Although USPS Tracking proves that a package was delivered to a particular address, Signature Confirmation proves that it was actually received by the intended recipient or his agent. This requires the recipient of your package to positively ID himself before the USPS carrier will deliver the package.
When mail is sent as a certified delivery, you have to sign to receive the item. Your signature, or that of an authorized agent, is proof that you received the mail. The signature operates as a type of receipt, so people often use certified mail when paying rent or sending money in settlement of an invoice.
As previously stated by another poster already certified mail is essentially someone having to sign for the letter or package you are sending them before they can receive it. As far as why people send mail certified they usually do it paying bills, giving notices, or sending important documents.
When you don't pick up the mail after the warning, it is sent back to the sender free of charge. The mail will be delivered back to the company or person as certified mail as well, in case it contains important contents.
