For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
1) Make sure you have the right expertise. 2) Visit the journal web page to learn their reviewer-specific instructions. 3) Skim the paper very quickly to get a general sense of the article. 4) Sit in a quiet place and read the manuscript critically.
Identify and teach the skills required for peer review. Teach peer review as an essential part of the writing process. Present peer review as an opportunity for students to learn how to write for an audience. Define the role of the peer-reviewer as that of a reader, not an evaluator.
Decline the review if you have any conflicts of interest (COIs). Remember that you're advising the journal editor, not making the decision about whether to accept or reject. Try to be helpful and always respectful to the author. Maintain confidentiality of the paper contents.
The three most common types of peer review are: Single blind. Double-blind. Open review.
Peer Review is a periodic outside review, performed by another accounting firm, of a firm's quality control system in accounting and/or auditing. Peer reviews maintain and improve the quality of the accounting and auditing services performed by firms.
This can include overview, contribution, strengths & weaknesses, and acceptability.
The peer review is completed once all the reviewers send the journal a detailed report with their comments on the manuscript and their recommendation. Typically, journals ask reviewers to complete their reviews within 3-4 weeks.
Scholarly peer review (also known as refereeing) is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal, conference proceedings or as a book.
When a study has undergone peer review it means that other scientists have examined the study to make sure the experiment was carried out properly and that the conclusions are appropriate. This is important to weed out studies with questionable methods and results to ensure scientific accuracy and reliability.
Do Be Kind. The basic premise of peer review is to encourage further writing. Do Give Concrete Advice. Be specific with your feedback. Seek Support: Don't Assume. Be Scientific: Don't Ignore the Details. Do Meet the Deadlines.
Enroll in a peer review class. Read the journal guidelines. Understand the aims and scope of the journal. Read through the manuscript at least twice. Ten ways for identifying areas of concern.
Give positive feedback first. Briefly summarize what the paper is about and what the findings are. Try to put the findings of the paper into the context of the existing literature and current knowledge. Indicate the significance of the work and if it is novel or mainly confirmatory.
