Here the affidavit of support will mean Form I-864 (one or more, if there are joint sponsors) and Form I-864A (in case of including resources of household member(s). In general, the Form I-864 must be submitted within one year of the sponsor's signature.

If the petitioning sponsor does not meet the income requirements, a joint sponsor who can meet the requirements may submit a Form I-864 to sponsor all or some of the family members of the intending immigrant. The original sponsor still needs to fill Form I-864.
The Affidavit of Support is a legal, enforceable contract between the US citizen or lawful permanent resident sponsor and the United States government.
