1) Open or create the PDF file that you would like to encrypt. 2) Near the upper right-hand corner, click on Tools. 3) Click Protection to drop the security options. 4) Click Encrypt.
Open the PDF and choose Tools > Protect > Encrypt > Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
Once Google Chrome has loaded, enter the password for the PDF. Next, right-click on the PDF and select Print. Set the destination printer to Save as PDF and click Save. You will now have the option to choose where to save the PDF. Choose a location and click Save. The PDF no longer has password protection.
