For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The law, in all states, generally provides that anyone excavate must call the 811 utility-locate hotline before digging begins to have all utilities located and marked. But as of January 1, the law has changed.
In most (if not all) states, calling 811 before you dig is the law. Miss Utility (811) does not itself locate utilities. Private utility lines are buried utilities that are located on common or private property between the meter and a home or a commercial building.
Before any type of digging on your property, even if it is only a few inches deep, contact Miss Utility at least 2 full days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) before your planned dig.
In theory, it is possible to dig several stories deep under your yard and even spread out to move across your yard and into others. Assuming you can support the hole properly and make sure there is no risk to your foundations or that of your neighbors you could theoretically dig as deep as you like.
Direct Burial Installation The minimum depth requirement of a direct burial cable is 24 inches, except when installed under a concrete slab with a minimum thickness of 2 inches. In this case, the cable can be installed at only 18 inches deep.
How deep are phone lines buried? The lines are usually buried with an edging tool. So they are 8 inches down at the maximum, 3 at the minimum. Call 811 before you dig.
Act as if you expect to get it. You need a solid level of certainty and expectation when you ask for something you want. Ask someone who can give it to you. Get the other person's full attention. Be clear and specific. Ask from the heart. Ask with humor and creativity. Give something to get something. Ask repeatedly.
Be forward about asking for it back. Be bold and come out with your request. Ask a question about it. By inquiring about the item you'll be less confrontational. Send a message regarding the item. A message allows you to be direct without having to confront your friend. Constantly bring it up.
Step 1: Focus on the recipient. Remember: Your message to the important person should be focused on THEM. Step 2: Sell your benefits. Let's face it, you're trying to sell yourself here. Step 3: Make saying no impossible.

Make a decision to have what you want, even if you don't know how to get it. This is deceptively simple. Be clear about the outcome. Be clear about the details of the outcome. Detach from the process. Expect that it will happen. Be open to possibility when things don't go your way. Practice gratitude.
To keep your subconscious mind focused on what you want, read your list of goals every day. For an even more powerful approach, close your eyes and focus on each goal and ask yourself, What is one thing I could do today to move toward the achievement of this goal? Write down your answers and take those actions.
811 is the phone number you call before digging to protect yourself and others from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines. There are millions of miles of buried utilities beneath the surface of the earth that are vital to everyday living like water, electricity and natural gas.

There is no allotted depth before a person needs to call 811. Whether you are just planting small shrubs or installing fences, CGA says any time you are putting a shovel in the ground you need to call due to the fact that many utilities are buried just a few inches below the surface.
