How do I create a custom date format in access?
To create a custom date format on a field, open your table in Design view by right-clicking on the table name in the left window and selecting Design View from the popup menu. In this example, we've set the Format property for the Operate field.

Long Date: Display a date according to your system's long date format. Medium Date: Display a date using the medium date format appropriate for the language version of the host application. Short Date: Display a date using your system's short date format.

How do I change the date format in a table?
On the View tab, choose Tables > More Tables.
In the Tables list, select Task or Resource, select the table for which you want to format the date, and then click Edit.
In the Date format list, select the date format you want to use, choose OK, and then choose To apply.
