Title Page Type your title in upper and lowercase letters centered in the upper half of the page. APA recommends that your title be no more than 12 words in length and that it should not contain abbreviations or words that serve no purpose. Your title may take up one or two lines.
The full title of the paper is centered in the upper half of the page, and the first letter of each major word is capitalized. The paper's title should be a maximum of 12 words and fill one or two lines; avoid using abbreviations and unnecessary words.
The title should exactly match the paper title but shortened if needed to accommodate no more than 50 spaces in length, including spaces. Words capitalized (4 words or greater), double-spaced, centered in the upper half of the page.
